Wednesday, 14 March 2012, Colombo: Mansoor & Sons Enterprises, the official distributors of the Power Horn energy drink in Sri Lanka announced the launch of its very own racing team today. Titled ‘Power Horn Racing’ – the team consists of top achievers in Sri Lanka’s motorsports industry.

 “Racing is an exciting sport and complements Power Horn quite well. We have always been on the look-out to support motor racing, and putting together our very own team has been quite rewarding. Our team consists of nine [09] racing professionals – all of whom have shown great potential in motorsport. We are quite proud to launch this team, and look forward to a great year of racing,” stated Mr. Tuan Mansoor Hanees, Proprietor, Mansoor & Sons Enterprises.

Led by Nigel Perera, Power Horn Racing consists of Hafiz Cader, Ishraq Wahab, Thiwanka Wijayasekara, Dharsha Pathirana, Ned Daniel, Prasanna Rajakulendran, Andrew Choksy [Nigel’s co-driver] and Zakir Wahab [Ishraq’s co-driver].

Addressing the gathering at the team’s launch at Choco Luv, Nigel Perera said, “It is refreshing to finally have a corporate interested in sponsoring a team of racers. Most racers are in it, for the passion they have for the sport. So much so, that they go to the extent of emptying their pockets, simply to pursue their love for the sport, however motorsport in Sri Lanka is now on the path of development. It is in the process of building a strong infrastructure, there can be no better time for the promotion of any brand. Power Horn energy drink has taken a strong step to come on board and sponsor us for this year, we are not only appreciative to them but also promise you some fabulous racing.”

Mansoor & Sons Enterprises holds the local distribution license for Power Horn, following a strategic partnership deal with African Star, which is a Dubai-based conglomerate. African Star holds the master distribution license for Power Horn in Sri Lanka. A trading company that commenced operations in 2011, its business interests lies in stationery, apparel and the food & beverage sectors.

Power Horn is manufactured in Poland and was launched in 2010 and is currently available in Asia, Africa, the Far East and the Gulf countries.
